These washers are primarily used to evenly distribute the load as far as cross bracing applications are concerned. Cable assemblies or diagonal tie rods that come with welded eye bolts seem to be used frequently to support steel beams and wall columns in the construction of metal buildings. The outer curved surface facilitates a nut to be tightened in different angles. As a result, installation time gets reduced and field adjustments are possible. Clevises and turnbuckles are other parts that are used commonly on steel structures.
