Structural bolts (heavy hex) are designed to ensure steel-to-steel structural connections. Hence, they are generally very short. A325 & A490 specifications aren’t meant for general applications that include anchor bolts. As far as these applications are concerned, it is ideal to consider substituting A449 for A325 & A354 grade BD for A490.
