Referred to by many names like dome head, safety head, fender head, mushroom head bolts and as economy bolt in the Pacific Northwest, Timber bolts are largely used in wood and marine applications. There are two nubs or fins in the base of the head of a timber bolt (the head is bulky, rounded, low-profile). The presence of these nubs or fins ensures that the bolt doesn’t turn in the timber. And, the extra-large head of the timber bolt reduces costs as it eliminates the want for a malleable iron washer.

Manufacturing

Baseline Bolt manufactures quality timber bolts of 1/2″ - 1-1/2″ diameter, fulfilling most of the ASTM, AASHTO, & SAE specifications. Moreover, it is possible to create special tooling in order to produce nonstandard bold heads or head dimensions with the name and/or logo of your company.
